Dereham were able to secure another valuable 3 points following their victory at Greenfields on Saturday.

It was a timid start from the home team, which enabled the visitors to take the advantage, and push forward to put the Dereham defence under pressure. Even when the visiting team were reduced to 9 men half way through the first half, they were unable to put enough pressure on the Peterborough defence to gain the breakthrough.

Fortunately Peterborough were unable to take advantage of the pressure and were limited to very few chances. Their best came towards the end of the first half where a short corner was kept at bay by a combination of keeper Tom Vaughan, Andy Lawrence and the post.

Peterborough made the better start in the second half, and got the goal their first half display deserved with a deflected shot which flew in to the top corner of the Dereham goal. This proved to be the incentive Dereham needed, and kick started their game. They drove forward with intent, and started to create numerous chances.

The equalizer came from a short corner when Andy Lawrence drilled his sot low into the goal leaving the Peterborough keeper with no chance. One became two shortly afterwards from another short corner. This time, Lawrence's shot was saved, but Ashley Woodyatt as able to sniff out the rebound before composing himself and finishing low past the keeper.

Dereham pressed further to make the game safe, and some intricate first touch hockey from Sam Plater, Ed Turner and Laurie Hill cut through the Peterborough defence, but on each occasion Dereham were unable to find the finishing touch. It was Hill who managed to add the third as again he combined with Plater, and managed to bundle the all over the line.

As Dereham pushed further to increase their advantage, there were a few opportunities for Peterborough to get back into the game, but Mark Hunter and Ric Timm managed to marshal the defence to ensure the three points belonged to Dereham.
